Belonging to a Clifton, Bristol based private client, this 19thC Speciman Table had spent many years stored in a damp outbuilding and had suffered water damage from a leaking roof.

Victorian Mahogany Wellington Chest belonging to a private client and used by the clients relative as a tool chest in a workshop. The piece needs extensive restoration to both the cabinet work and the polished finish as can be seen in the image!

The completed work with repairs undertaken to missing beading and loose and missing veneers. The entire polished finish was carefully removed and the piece re french polished using traditional methods and materials. It was not practical to retain the original finish due to severe sun damage, oxidisation and drying out. (completed 2009 for a private client in Bristol)

The completed clock with the newly made base section constructed from old and authentic materials. The previously made dial surround has been adapted to fit the clock case. The clock was subject to numerous and extensive veneer repairs and the entire piece was refinished and distressed. (completed 2009)

A Georgian Mahogany Tripod Table. The top support block had extensive woodworm and was beyond saving. This image shows the block having been removed in pieces due to the joint being wedged within the tenon. The repair consists of making up a replacement block from Oak. Other aspects of the table restoration involved regluing a shattered leg and attention to the surface finish.

The completed table fully restored. This table is rare and unusual in that it has a one piece mahogany top approx 40 inches in width! (completed 2010)

Georgian Oak and Mahogany Cross Banded Chest of Drawers. In derilect condition and beyond saving in many peoples eyes. Needed complete and extensive restoration. Apologies for the poor image - the camera was having an off day!

Completed chest - this piece really did need enormous work. Complete dismantling of the carcase and regluing, numerous repairs to veneer loss, repairs to drawer runners, cock beading, drawer rails and feet. Both sides of the chest had seperated and needed regluing. The top of the chest has been totally replaced using period oak timber which in turn has been cross banded with original cuban mahogany complete with ebony line inlay all glued down using traditional scotch glue. The whole chest has been sympathetically refinished correctly for the period. In total around 45 hours work (completed 2008 for a client in Maidenhead, Berkshire))

Namely - new feet and base mouldings all the way round, new centre door and frame, new veneered facings to all the drawer rails all of which have been constructed from period cuban mahogany. The peice was then revived, new timbers stained and distressed and a hard wax finish applied to the whole. In all about 35 hours work and completed early 2011.
